read bible daily
Our Sermon Series is exploring our mission to “Love God and all others unconditionally.” In preparation for this week, we are reading Luke 9:1-6 to better understand sharing our faith story as a foundation for faithful living.

Find the daily readings below along with questions for reflection. Join (or begin!) the discussion in the comments. We’d love to hear from you about how reading the Bible daily is bringing you closer to God and one another.

You also may be interested in joining a small group that focuses on exploring the scripture for the following Sunday’s sermon or learning how to approach Bible study in general – or a variety of other opportunities to “seek answers to our questions” as part of a group. Check it out here!

  1. Healing: making whole. I am particularly called to help heal the earth, to help make it whole. To do the small things, to encourage but not browbeat others to do the small things. Reduce. Reuse.

  2. I think Jesus is asking us to trust in Him. To trust that He will provide. We just returned from our adventures in WY, MT, and ID. I am always struck by the enormity of our house when we return. How full it is of stuff that we don’t need. How far it is from my bed to the bathroom! I feel like this passage speaks directly to the extra baggage we carry with us, both literally and figuratively.

  4. I really like this comment, Renee. Even as I try NOT to have too much stuff, I still carry it with me both physically and emotionally.
