read bible daily

Our Sermon Series is exploring our mission to “Seek answers to our questions.” In preparation for this week, we’re reading Luke 9:18-27 to better understand how daily Bible reading can lead us into a deeper understanding of where we can encounter Jesus.

Find the daily readings below along with questions for reflection. Join (or begin!) the discussion in the comments. We’d love to hear from you about how reading the Bible daily is bringing you closer to God and one another.

You also may be interested in joining a small group that focuses on exploring the scripture for the following Sunday’s sermon or learning how to approach Bible study in general – or a variety of other opportunities to “seek answers to our questions” as part of a group. Check it out here!

  1. Oct 20 – To me, Jesus is friend and comforter, advocate and defender, teacher and Savior. I love that Jesus asks his disciples to answer who he is in their lives–it invites relationship. It makes me feel like Jesus wants to hear from me too.

  2. After reading and learning so much about racism and every white person’s impact on its continuation, I feel that one of my crosses is to continue learning and to be a part of the solution to ending racism on a personal as well as a systemic level.

  3. I carry a weariness about our current situation….COVID, racism, division in our country. It feels so heavy and it is so hard to see how to lift the weight of it all.

  4. Losing my life for Jesus’ sake means fully giving myself over to Jesus and trying to put Him first in my life. It is a joy and a challenge to seek, discern and put Jesus’ will into action in my life.
