Belgium, presidential elections, deaths in the families of our congregation, job loss and transition… We need Resurrection. Today is Good Friday. We will remember this evening the death of Jesus and his burial in the tomb.
We will not talk about Easter tonight. Easter doesn’t come until Sunday. Good Friday of Holy Week reminds us of the Good Fridays that we experience in our lives. We experience troubles that seem so intense that they are like a kind of death. We need Resurrection.
Here’s the Good News: Easter always comes after Good Friday. It may not always be the three days later that we remember this week. Your personal Easter may come after years of Good Fridays. But Easter will come.
I hope you’ll join us for worship tonight and Sunday, especially if you are at a time in life where you need to experience resurrection.
