Rev. David Livingston

Do you ever have one of those days where it seems like nothing goes right? You get to lunch time and say, “I just want a do over.” You know that we don’t get to do life over again. Yesterday is already in the books – it won’t come around again. But we can still get a fresh start. Just like you can say to yourself on that hard day, “After lunch I’m going to take a fresh approach to the rest of the day” you can also say, “Starting today I’m going to take a fresh approach to life.” You can’t have a do over, but you can start over. You can start fresh. Which is what we’re doing at St. Paul’s this fall.

In worship, we’re looking at some fascinating stories from the Bible of people who found that they needed a new beginning – and we can have that same new beginning. We are rethinking Sunday morning children’s ministry and Sunday afternoon youth ministry – expanding on what we know is working well and trying some new things that we think will work better. We are challenging ourselves with three new adult studies starting in September (and have several continuing groups that newcomers are always welcome to join).

If it’s been a while since you’ve been here, there is no better time to start over than this Sunday. I hope we see you!
