I invite you to help in healing this coming week. Below, you’ll see easy ways to give through UMCOR to hurricane relief. UMCOR is the single best way to give because 100% of your giving will go directly to relief work.
- Text the amount you’d like to contribute followed by the acronym UMCOR, e.g., 25 UMCOR, to 913.956.0436
- Make checks payable to SPUMC with UMCOR on the memo line
- Contribute online by choosing the UMCOR category
You also should know that all churches in the Great Plains Conference have been challenged to complete at least 5 flood buckets. Our Presence small group worship community has committed to completing those buckets. If you’d like to make one yourself you can – follow the instructions here and bring it to the church – but only completed buckets can be accepted.
The second way to heal is through prayer this week. We have taken two hours to be in prayer for our United Methodist connection. As our denomination struggles with some of the same division that faces our country, I invite you to consider praying from 2-3p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6th and 11-noon on Thursday, Sept. 7th. You’ll be praying along with other United Methodists in Kansas and Nebraska for healing of the denomination.
