The shooting of a Congressman this week is a reminder of the hate that we experience so often in our country. Violence is never an acceptable response to disagreement. We should keep in mind that there are many forms of violence, just like abuse in a home can be physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional. Wherever two or three are gathered there will be conflict. It is OK to disagree. It is OK to disagree forcefully. But even then, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. May we be examples for others of what it means to follow the Prince of Peace in the ways we treat one another.
