Spring Blood Drive
Sunday, May 13, 8:00am – 12:00pm
Come early or stay late on Sunday, May 13, when the Community Blood Center will be in the Student Center from 8:00am – 12:00pm. You can save a life!
A signup sheet will be available at the ConneXions Center, or you can sign up online now with sponsor code stpaulsumc. For questions or assistance in making an appointment, please contact Bob Casey (913.645.0192, firstname.lastname@example.org) or Meredith Christian (913.907.9176, email@example.com).
All blood types are needed, however, if you know that you have type O negative or O positive, please make a special effort to donate. These types are especially valuable in critical situations. Donors who have relatively rare blood types, and who meet the minimum criteria to do so, will be given the opportunity to donate double units of blood. These appointments take a bit longer, and are made available at 8:00, 9:00 10:00 and 11:00. This may be an opportunity to double your lifesaving gift!
The Community Blood Center requires nearly 600 units of blood every day to supply 75 area hospitals with life-saving blood and blood components. Since blood products have a very short “shelf-life”, there is limited ability to build a stock of blood for later use. Even with all the wonderful medical advances that have been made, there are no substitutes for blood and blood components.
This important ministry yields so many lifesaving benefits. Please plan to donate if possible, and encourage your friends to participate as well!
