Rev. David Livingston

Preparations for Advent (which begins in two weeks) are fully underway. Advent is a season of anticipation, preparation, and expectation. Our theme will be Great Expectations, thinking about both what we expect during the holidays and what our reality often is. I think you’ll find the worship and study opportunities meaningful.

We are also in a season of expectation and anticipation in our country. The election of a new president inevitably brings joy to some and concern to others. At St. Paul’s we have members and participants who voted for Trump, Clinton, Johnson, Stein, and write in candidates. We are not of one mind politically. I think that’s great! We are of one mind on this – we will Love God and all others unconditionally. I will be praying for President-elect Trump to be a wise and effective leader. I will also be praying for those who are scared of what this election may mean for their rights and safety. I promise that St. Paul’s will always be a safe place for you, regardless of your race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or political persuasion.
